Introducing… Breitling’s Avenger Hurricane
Distinctly marked with the sharp colours of a hornet, this is the unmistakable Breitling’s Avenger Hurricane, created for bold lovers of both innovation and tradition. It seems apparent that Breitling has a secret weapon in their arsenal – or, should we say, a new set of guns on their airship. We’re talking about a cutting-edge case material called Breitlight, which is 33% lighter than titanium and much stronger to boot. It seems that heavy, uglier materials like steel are a thing of the past. This will surely appeal to those who didn’t find themselves warming to the idea of sporting a clunky 50mm diameter timepiece. If that wasn’t enough, the powerful Hurrican is also water-resistant and styled with a unique, sleek black aesthetic and military-grade, textile strap.
This is another example of a stunning breakthrough, plucked from the brand’s ‘skunkworks’ project. It was revealed at this year’s Baselworld, bearing the distinct colouration and militaristic detailing of the Avenger’s design. The brand has been recognised as upscaling the various different aspects of its processes in all areas of production. Now we can enjoy the arrival of Breitlight and the innovative benefits that bolster this go-anywhere timepiece, including anti-magnetic and anti-corrosion properties, as well as thermal technology, providing a warmer, more luxurious feel for the wearer, as opposed to other traditional, much colder metals.
The Breitling Hurrican is powered by a sophisticated movement, sealed within a shell of near-indestructible material, comparable to the heavyweight Casio G-Shock. To be more specific, it’s driven by an in-house Manufacture Breitling Caliber B12 – a self-winding chronograph with a 24-hour display chronometer, approved by the Swiss Official Chronometer Institute.
You can buy the Breitling Avenger Hurricane for £6,480 from breitling.com.
